Sea vehicles are leaders among the means and ways of transportation in the international network, due to the low cost of delivery over long distances, the capacity of sea vessels and the almost unlimited capacity of sea routes.

Most often, international sea transport is one of the components of the transport and logistics chain. Usually transported cargo to the sea is delivered by road or rail. Sometimes the goods are delivered to their destination using several types of vehicles and routes: air, car, train, sea or river.

Typically, combined (multi, intermodal) using several modes of transport are also included in shipping by sea.

TRANSVOSTOK has experience in transporting such cargoes as bulk, general, container, various dangerous classes, as well as delivering goods from Central Asia, Africa, China, to Europe and in the opposite direction.

Sea vessels, as well as, for example, automobile transport, have their own types, the design and construction of which are associated with the need for safety, convenience and economic efficiency of transportation of various cargoes.

Usually a single ship carries a uniform load. But there are so-called combined, hybrid vessels, on which, for example, the inner deck is refrigerated + the upper one for containers.

Transportation of goods by sea vessels are divided into bulk carriers and tankers.

tanker (or tank ship or tankship) is a ship designed to transport or store liquids or gases in bulr. Major types of tankship include the oil tanker, the chemical tanker, and  gas carrier. Tankers also carry commodities such as vegetable oils, molasses and wine.

Gas carrier

Break bulk cargo or General cargo have several types:

1. General cargo vessels carry packaged items like chemicals, foods, furniture, machinery, motor- and military vehicles, footwear, garments, etc.

2. Specialized:

  • Container ships (sometimes spelled containerships) are cargo ships that carry all of their load in truck-size intermodal containers, in a technique called containerization. They are a common means of commercial intermodal freight transport and now carry most seagoing non-bulk cargo.

  • Ro-Ro ships have ramps and platforms that can immobilise any wheeled vehicle, from private cars to industrial vehicles or lorries loaded with freight for long-distance trips. There are also hybrid modalities for ro-ro passenger transport (ferries) and with containers (Ro-Lo). In any event, these boats are especially designed to keep from damaging both the means of transport and the freight they may be carrying.

  • Bulk carrier. These are the most suitable for transporting solid bulk loads. In other words, with small loose or crushed units, such as grains, cements or minerals. They are used for loading and unloading with spoon-shaped cranes, and we can make out the areas designed for this activity on their decks.

  • Reefer vessels. This kind of ship transports food and perishable goods that must be kept in good condition during the trip, such as fruits and vegetables. This means we are talking about freight that requires a special thermal treatment, specifically keeping a very low temperature. This vessel type normally has between three and five holds.

  • For transportation of raw wood, sawn timber, "logs"
